I became a teacher because I’ve always loved learning and sharing that excitement with others. Growing up, I spent a lot of time helping my younger brothers with homework and cheering them on as they figured things out. Watching their confidence grow sparked my passion for helping students feel capable, supported, and proud of what they can achieve. I love creating a classroom where curiosity is encouraged and every child feels seen, valued, and inspired to keep learning.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching moments was when our class had the opportunity to connect with AD Mitchell through the NFeLementary program. Hearing an NFL player share how skills like perseverance, responsibility, and learning from mistakes apply both on the field and in real life made a powerful impact. My students saw that growth comes through challenges and that mistakes are part of learning. It helped them understand that what we practice in the classroom truly matters beyond the class.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If awarded this money, I would invest it back into my classroom to create meaningful opportunities for my students. The funds would provide updated books, hands-on learning materials, technology, and enrichment experiences that bring learning to life. I would also use it to help start build my family through IVF. I would love to continue pouring my love for learning into my own children.
