Learn MoreI became a teacher because I started substituting and fell in love with it. I never wanted to be a teacher. I have a degree in graphic design. Here I am 10 years later hoping to make a difference in children's lives. I can't see myself doing anything else.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceThis year has been particularly hard since I lost my grandma who was an educator and principal in her prime. I had a student in 2nd grade write me a note saying she was praying for me. This school year has been difficult and to have a 2nd grade student pray for me changed so many things for me. I love what I do and wouldn't change it for the world.
What would you do with the $25,000?I haven't fully thought about that since I don't think I have a chance at winning but I would take care of my students with it. I would budget it through multiple years to help pay for snacks, uniforms, field trips, school supplies, and things for my classroom to run smoothly without any kind of worry. Id like to have a care closet as well.
