I am a teacher to be that person for the kids, show them how to have a voice, and to love themselves.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceHoliday decorating, getting the ornaments and paint out to make a special handprint, snowman for their families. One student was homeless and living in their car with their sister, mom, and dad. They did not have a Christmas tree to hang the ornament. I did not know this at the time but the student had a tree paper that we colored in class. She asked her grandma for some tape and put the tree and ornament on the back of the headrest. I will always do my best to give them the best memories.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would set up a decodable library for our elementary students. Families could come and explore the magic books and listen to their child’s excitement reading.
