Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I believe every child deserves a strong, loving foundation for learning. Working in early childhood education allows me to help children develop confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love for learning. Being part of those early moments; when a child learns something new, solves a problem, or believes in themselves; reminds me daily why this work matters so much.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable experiences was helping a shy student find their voice in the classroom. At first, they rarely spoke or participated. Through encouragement, patience, and creating a safe space, they slowly began sharing their ideas during group activities. The day they confidently raised their hand and spoke in front of the class was unforgettable. Moments like that remind me how powerful support and belief can be.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would invest in resources that directly benefit my students and classroom; books, hands-on learning materials, and technology that supports early literacy and exploration. I would also create engaging learning centers that encourage creativity, collaboration, and discovery. My goal would be to ensure every child has access to meaningful learning experiences that help them grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
