As a special education teacher I find joy in watching my students gain independence and showing them they are valued and have potential.

I became a teacher because I am passionate about helping young people succeed and grow. I find it deeply rewarding to witness the 'aha!' moment when a student understands a difficult topic for the first time. I am looking to build meaningful relationships with students, supporting them through challenges and celebrating their achievements both in and out of the classroom.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne particularly memorable moment that comes to mind is when a student of mine who barely spoke any English at all when she first came to my class took a benchmark test and got a 95% on her high frequency recognition. She started at 33% on her first benchmark. She was so proud of herself and she even gave me a hug and thanked me! It melted my heart!
What would you do with the $25,000?I would get some new furniture and supplies for my students since a lot of what we have is old, broken and worn. My students deserve nothing but the best to ensure they have the best education possible. This money would also help with student loan debt that I have!
