My mom taught kindergarten and first grade, and I will never forget watching her former students—now adults—walk up to her and share how much she had impacted their lives. Seeing the difference she made inspired me to want to leave that same kind of legacy.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of my most meaningful teaching experiences is when former students return as seniors and ask me to write their college recommendation letters. Hearing them share that I was their favorite teacher is incredibly humbling, and it reminds me that the relationships we build in the classroom truly matter long after students leave.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I received $25,000, I would put it toward my sons’ college education. Being able to ease that financial burden would mean everything to me—not just as a parent, but as someone who believes deeply in the power of education to change lives. It would be an investment in their future, their dreams, and the paths they are just beginning to create.
