Tell us why you became a teacher

I had been working in corporate America and I was dissatisfied with what I was bringing to the world. I knew that I wanted to help people. Knowing that kids needed people who could make math more accessible to them, drove me to get into the classroom.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

There are so many. When students have those aha moments, it gets me so excited. I do remember kids who thought that they would never be good at math, having moments when they got it and were able to explain to others just made me so happy.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use it to help kids understand math at Lake Tahoe Unified school district. We just don't have enough money to pay for additional teachers. This money would allow me to focus on these kids without the district having to pay me.
