Tell us why you became a teacher

Every day, I get to watch them grow, explore new ideas, and discover their own strengths. Seeing the joy on a student’s face when they finally understand something or accomplish a goal is incredibly rewarding. Teaching allows me to build meaningful relationships, create a safe and supportive classroom community, and inspire a love of learning that can last a lifetime. It’s challenging, exciting, and endlessly fulfilling-reminding me why I chose to become a teacher!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable experience as a teacher was watching one of my students, who is autistic, achieve his learning goals. It was challenging at times, but by working together as partners—with him and his mom—we were able to help him succeed. Seeing him enjoy school, even in small moments, instead of feeling frustrated or discouraged, reminded me why I do this work. Those moments of growth and joy make all the effort worthwhile.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Receiving support would allow me to pay off my student loan debt and provide my classroom with the materials I need to continue creating an exciting and engaging learning environment. As a teacher, many resources fall on our shoulders to purchase, which can be limiting. This support would make it easier for both myself and parents to maintain a classroom where students are inspired, motivated, and fully engaged in their learning.
