I love teaching science because I get to spark curiosity, inspire discovery, and help students see how amazing the world is.

Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I enjoy working with kids and watching them learn and grow. It is rewarding to see a student finally understand something and gain confidence. I love helping students overcome challenges and celebrating their success. Many kids do not have a consistent male role model, and I value being someone who can encourage, support, and believe in them while helping them reach their potential.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

A memorable experience I had with as helping a student who was struggling and had little confidence finally understand a lesson they once believed was impossible. Seeing their face light up when it finally “clicked” and watching their confidence grow is incredibly rewarding. Moments like that remind me that patience, encouragement, and support can truly change how a student sees their own potential.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I received $25,000, I would purchase science project materials our classroom currently lacks so students can have more hands-on learning experiences. I would also invest in professional clothing to set a positive example for my students. I would like to take a weekend trip to the beach for some self-care.
