Learn MoreI become a teacher as a second career, after having children. I have seen as a mother the importance of providing opportunities for experiential learning and what a long lasting impacts these experiences have in a child, teenager, young adult. I decided to go back to school and get a masters degree in education to be a science teacher. As a lifelong learner myself, I always valued and treasured the beauty of language to become a multilingual science teacher, building bridges in between language.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy class of 14 multilingual students from 12 different countries. We have developed such a caring and respectful community that supports each other. Powerful moments when they are learning where they are from, what holidays they celebrate, all in a common language of English.
What would you do with the $25,000?OMG!!! So many things! Be able to take students to field trips as the cost of transportation is so expensive. Get materials in different languages, get technologies that I can use in the classroom for my students.
