Tell us why you became a teacher

It may seem cliché, but my kindergarten teachers are one of the biggest reasons I became a teacher. I developed a love of learning and wanted to teach every thing I learned to my little brother almost every afternoon. I remember how it felt to have a teacher taken interest in me, and that’s what I wanted to do for my students when I became a teacher.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of the most memorable moments for mewas the first time I had a child of one of my former students walk into my classroom. To know that I was able to grow with their parent and that I had a chance to do the same with them was mind blowing. I thought what an honor it is to be able to do this for this long that you were able to touch more than one generation of the family

What would you do with the $25,000?

I definitely would put some back to save for retirement. I’m sure some might go towards my classroom supplies. I also would like to take my children on a small trip, all together, because we all don’t get to spend enough time together with our busy lives.
