As a child, I remember playing "school" in my basement and having some favorite teachers throughout my educational experiences that inspired me to want to pursue a career working with kids! After working as an interpreter for the deaf, I transitioned to teaching first grade and taught preschoolers while I was in high school and college. Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I taught first grade in a low income school. I was teaching students a lesson on phonics and they just weren't understanding everything I was teaching them. I stopped, thought for a second, and came up with a new strategy using more of their body movement. Once we started, they didn't want to stop. It was one of the best "aha" moments.

What would you do with the $25,000?

First, I would help pay off some bills for my husband and I. Second, I would put some of the money toward our son's college loan.
