Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I felt called to make a difference in the lives of children and to be the kind of supportive, encouraging adult every student deserves. I wanted a career that allowed me to inspire confidence, nurture curiosity, and help students discover their strengths. Teaching gives me the opportunity to build meaningful relationships, create a safe and engaging learning environment, and guide students not only academically but socially and emotionally as well.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable moments of teaching was the first time I saw a student truly believe in themselves because of something I helped them understand. It was that moment when confusion turned into confidence — when their face lit up, their posture changed, and they proudly said, “I get it!” That experience reminded me that teaching is about more than lessons and standards; it’s about building confidence, creating safe spaces for growth, and being part of a child’s breakthrough.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I had $25,000, I would first make sure my family was secure by paying off any debt or setting aside a strong emergency fund so we’d have peace of mind. I would invest some of it into my children’s future — whether that’s savings for college, meaningful experiences, or something special that supports their interests. I’d also put a portion toward my classroom, creating an even more engaging and resource-rich environment for my students.
