Teaching is an opportunity to create safe places for young people and teach them. I love that I get to help children and watch them grow.

Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I like working with children and it's a job that feels very worthwhile. It challenges me everyday and allows me to help others. I love teaching kids and watching them grow each day. It's a full filling job.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I teach kindergarten so a lot of the time I teach is a memorable experience. My favorite is when a struggling student finally talked to me and opened up, and showed me just how much she had learned. It was so nice to see that she felt safe enough to talk and be herself in class.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use it to help pay off some of my student loan debt and to buy materials for my classroom.
