Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher to be the adult who sees the spark in every child—even on the days they can’t see it themselves. I believe learning should feel joyful, meaningful, and empowering. In my classroom, we build confidence alongside skills. Watching students grow into who they’re meant to be is the most rewarding work I know.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching moments was receiving a two-page letter from a parent thanking me for believing in their child. I remember sitting in my classroom, overwhelmed with gratitude, realizing the impact we have goes far beyond academics. That moment reminded me that teaching is about connection, trust, and helping children feel truly seen.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the $25,000 to enhance and extend the learning experiences I create for my students...bringing in additional decodable books, hands-on materials, and innovative resources that deepen engagement and curiosity. It would allow me to continue designing meaningful, responsive lessons and create an environment where every child feels inspired, supported, and excited to learn and play.
