Christian Moreno

I became a teacher because I want to make a positive difference in my students' lives; I share my passion for learning, and fostering growth in young minds. I am a child of educators and I endeavor to follow my parents' steps, and it has been very gratifying and fulfilling. I feel I have the gift of sharing what I know and learn selflessly, as coded in a teacher's DNA!

My most memorable teaching experience was in 2022 when the artists I selected to participate my Music and Culture Project accepted my invitation to sponsor it by recording a video greeting the school community. These videos were received with great enthusiasm by my students, colleagues, school administrators, and district staff. I would use the award to keep working on more class projects and create incentives and provide more materials and meaningful technology in my lessons, cover part of my personal student loans and pursue a PHD, and sponsor more initiatives to foster cultural and academic experiences for my students as they learn a foreign language.
