Tell us why you became a teacher

I was inspired by my parents especially my mom. She taught with heart and never gave up. She is almost 80 and still subbing. I now know what it's like to come home with my own rewarding stories.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

As rewarding as it is for my students to progress, it is also rewarding for parents as well. I teach in one of the poorest parts of my city and memorable moments come when a parent learns how to support their child at home and sees how it makes a difference at school. Many of my families overcome so much and we learn where these littles come from and the hardships they endure daily and still show up everyday to learn. Its amazing!! Teaching littles and their parents on how to support them

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use it towards my classroom, my students that live in a very poor side of town Second poorest in the nation and may not be able to afford basic items. I would also share with my colleagues.
