Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I wanted to make a meaningful difference in students’ lives by inspiring, guiding, and empowering them to reach their full potential. I believe education opens doors and builds confidence, and I am passionate about helping students develop critical thinking skills and a deeper understanding of the world. Seeing their growth, curiosity, and determination motivates me every day, and knowing I play a role in their future success is incredibly rewarding.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was helping a student who had been told she’d never succeed. Over the years, I encouraged her, reminded her of her worth, and supported her growth. Watching her gain confidence, believe in herself, and overcome doubts was inspiring. The moment she graduated at the top of her class was unforgettable, a powerful reminder of the impact encouragement, guidance, and belief can have on a student’s life.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000, I would care for my 100-year-old mother, take a vacation since I haven’t had one in 12 years, catch up on bills, and throw a celebration for my students to show them how much they mean to me.
