Learn MoreI became a teacher so I could help create a love for learning in my students. I encourage them to believe in themselves by helping them achieve academic growth and celebrating the progress they make. I also have a strong passion for advocating for my students and ensuring they have the support they need to succeed. As a middle school special ed teacher, I have the opportunity to guide students during an important time in their lives, encouraging them to recognize their abilities.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience was turning my classroom into a campground for state test prep week. My students loved the immersive lessons and were fully engaged in the activities. It made learning fun while still focusing on important skills they needed. Because of the hard work and dedication of the teachers at my school, we also achieved 100% special education growth, which made the experience even more rewarding. Seeing my students gain confidence and make progress was the best.
What would you do with the $25,000?With the $25,000, I would purchase necessities for my classroom, finish paying off the remaining loan from my master’s degree, and save the rest.
