I became a teacher to make a difference in students’ lives, especially in Title I schools where I can have the greatest impact. I love supporting English Language Learners and helping students gain confidence in a new language. I strive to make learning fun and engaging so students feel valued, excited to come to school, and motivated to succeed.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of my most memorable teaching experiences was hearing from one of my very first students five years later. He sent a heartfelt message sharing that I had greatly impacted his life and was one of the main reasons he was graduating high school. He even invited me to attend his graduation. That moment reminded me why I teach—to make a lasting difference beyond the classroom.
What would you do with the $25,000?With a $25,000 prize, I would add to my costume closet to make school dress-up days even more fun and engaging for my students. I would also take my family on a meaningful vacation to create lasting memories together. Of course, I would responsibly use part of the prize to pay off debt and strengthen my family’s financial future.
