Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because of the little girl I used to be. School wasn’t always easy, and there were moments I felt unsure and unseen. But a few teachers believed in me before I believed in myself. Their encouragement changed my confidence and my future. I teach for the students who need someone steady, someone who sees them and reminds them they are capable. I became the teacher I once needed.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable experiences was a student who didn’t have the best home life and openly disliked school. Early on, she confided in me about personal struggles. I focused on making my classroom her safe space. Slowly, her confidence grew. She began participating, smiling, and believing in herself. By the end of the year, her grades skyrocketed. Watching her fall in love with learning and change her perspective on school was one of the proudest moments of my career.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I were given $25,000, I would invest it in the future of my two little boys, my two year old and my one year old, who mean absolutely everything to me. I would start education funds for them so they have opportunities I once prayed for. I’d create security, stability, and breathing room so they can grow up without worry. Every decision I make is rooted in giving them a strong foundation. That gift wouldn’t just support me it would build a brighter future for the two hearts I love most.
