Learn MoreI became a special education teacher to make a meaningful difference in students’ lives. I’m especially passionate about empowering students with diverse learning needs to build independence, confidence, and real-world skills. Seeing students grow, accomplish things they once thought were impossible, and realize their potential is what motivates me every day.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceAs a first-year teacher, every day brings memorable moments, but my most meaningful experience has been helping a non-speaking student begin learning to use his AAC communication device. Watching him find a way to express himself and connect with others has been a powerful reminder that every student deserves a voice.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would invest into programs and resources that support students with diverse learning needs, helping them gain the skills, confidence, and opportunities they need to thrive in school and in life.
