Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I believe education changes lives. I wanted to create a classroom where children feel safe, valued, and capable of success. Seeing students grow academically and socially inspires me daily. Teaching allows me to serve my community, build strong foundations in literacy and confidence, and help shape future leaders with purpose and compassion.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was watching a struggling reader gain confidence and finally read a book independently. The pride on their face was unforgettable. In that moment, I saw how patience, encouragement, and consistent support can truly transform a child’s belief in themselves. It reminded me that teaching is not just about academics, but about building confidence and hope.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000, I would enhance my classroom with high-quality literacy and math resources, hands-on learning materials, and flexible seating to support diverse learning styles. I would also invest in technology, books for my classroom library, and family engagement initiatives to strengthen the home–school connection. My goal would be to create an even more enriching, innovative, and student-centered learning environment.
