Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I believe that the moments we create in a classroom can shape a child’s entire future. Growing up, I saw how much of a difference one supportive adult could make in a student’s life. A teacher’s encouragement, patience, and belief in a child can help them see potential in themselves that they might not recognize yet. I wanted to be that person who helps students feel confident, valued and cared about.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was creating a classroom where students felt valued and cared for. I knew some students were not always treated well at home, so I tried to be a patient and supportive teacher who truly listened. Several students told me I was the only teacher who let them talk and made them feel heard. That meant so much to me and reminded me that teaching is not only about academics, but also about making students feel safe, respected, and important.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I received the $25,000, I would save most of it for my future. I would set some of it aside to help build a stable foundation for my future family. My goal would be to save it responsibly so that one day it can support my future children and help provide them with opportunities as they grow.
