Small children really are the best people. If I have to work for a living, then I want to be surrounded by the best people. 30 years later, here I am.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne that stands out is not really a happy one. It was my first year teaching. It was 2nd grade. We went on a field trip and took a harbor cruise. The students loved it. What was interesting was the comments. They were saying things like, “ Is this the REAL ocean? What ocean are we on? I’ve never seen the real ocean before. My parents don’t like the beach so they don’t take me but I really want to go” It made me sad. From then on I knew I had to give kids experiences they won’t get at home.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would love to take my family on a memorable trip to Croatia.
