I love teaching because of the moments you get to make a difference. Academic, social, and emotional growth in a child is a beautiful thing.

Learn MoreI became a teacher because the feeling you get when you see a child learn something that came from you is indescribable. The students who write you years later to say you were their favorite teacher is so heart warming. To establish a trusting relationship with students who have behavior issues and earn their respect so they can flourish is the ultimate prize. There are many reasons I became a teacher. It is truly my passion.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of my most memorable teaching experiences was when I developed an entrepreneurship program for my class. Businesses were viable for students and included business plans, mock websites, and business cards. A field trip to the Great Wolfe Lodge to learn about running a business was also incorporated. I continued teaching this program because of its success and the creativity that came out of it. I watched students decide on their own to partner up with other students due to budget costs.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I was blessed to win 25,000, I would pay off any current debt and invest the rest for my retirement. I plan on starting a tutoring business after I retire, so I can continue to do what I love.
