Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I believe childhood is magical and powerful. I wanted to be the person who helps children discover their strengths, build confidence, and fall in love with learning. There’s nothing more rewarding than watching a child understand something for the first time or seeing their face light up with pride. I became a teacher to make a difference — not just academically, but emotionally — by creating a safe, joyful space where every child feels valued, capable, and seen.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was teaching my students Spanish words and seeing them remember and proudly share those words with me weeks later. Watching them hold onto what they learned and confidently repeat it back showed me how meaningful those small moments of learning truly are.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would invest the money back into my classroom to strengthen and enrich my students’ learning experience. Whether it’s hands-on learning materials, updated books, sensory tools, or engaging math and literacy centers, each purchase would be thoughtfully chosen to support their growth. My goal is to create a classroom environment where every child feels inspired, supported, and excited to learn every single day.
