Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I wanted to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people. Education has the power to build confidence, open opportunities, and change future’s. As a middle school math teacher, I enjoy helping students overcome challenges and realize they are capable of more than they think seeing students grow academically and personally is what inspires me to continue teaching.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences as a middle school math teacher was helping a student who struggled with confidence in math. After working together using visual models in real life examples the moment it clicked was unforgettable. The students excitement and pride reminded me that patients, encouragement, and creative teaching can truly change a student’s relationship with learning.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I were fortunate enough to win the $25,000 prize, I would use it responsibly to support both my professional and personal growth. I would invest in my education and classroom resources that benefit my students while also setting aside savings for financial stability. A portion would also help support my families needs. This opportunity would allow me to continue growing as an educator while maintaining stability and giving back to those who depend on me.
