Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I loved my high school culinary arts program, but I knew it could be even better. I wanted students to experience more advanced techniques, modern equipment, and real world skills that truly prepare them for the industry. Teaching allows me to share my passion for culinary arts, inspire creativity, and help students grow in confidence, skill, and purpose.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

While I’ve celebrated state and national championships through student competitions, my most memorable moments aren’t trophies they’re the relationships. The real joy comes from the bonds built in the classroom and the impact beyond it. Each year, letters from graduating seniors sharing how their experience shaped them and how I played a small role mean more than any title. Helping a student grow is the greatest reward.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000, I would first pay off my own debt and loans. Financial freedom would lift a huge weight off our shoulders. After that, I’d take my wife on a well-deserved vacation. She’s stood by me through long hours and every challenge, and I’d love to show her how deeply grateful I am for her constant support.
