My Mom taught for over 30 years and I saw firsthand the positive impact she made and I wanted to honor her legacy, in addition to forging my own.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceBeing a K teacher for almost 30 years , there are many memorable teaching experiences, but what stands out the most is when I have been in places like NYC, LA, Disney, or on vacation, or in Boston and a former student runs up out of nowhere and slam hugs me and their excitement can't be contained, it melts my heart. To realize the lifelong positive impact I have on my students gives me an extraordinary sense of accomplishment that I do not believe many other professions can provide.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would use the money to help educate my own children and put it towards their college funds, and spend a little bit on myself!
