Tell us why you became a teacher

Many teachers have shaped my educational journey and inspired me to make a difference. I know not all students have strong support systems, so I aim to help those facing challenges in and out of school. By building strong relationships, I strive to help students feel seen, valued, and confident in their ability to succeed!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

In my first year of teaching, I worked with a student who had a learning disability and parents who were not involved. He came to school unfocused and unsure of his abilities. By refusing to give up on him, I helped him see his potential. At the end of the year, he hugged me and shared that I made him feel seen, valued, and capable. That moment confirmed that I chose the right career!

What would you do with the $25,000?

My husband and I are currently living solely on my teacher's salary. He is in medical school, and the additional money would greatly help with loans and everyday expenses. I would be eternally grateful!
