Learn MoreI naturally love science, and sharing that excitement with students and communities who rarely get access to STEM has always driven me. Seeing curiosity spark and grow into a love of learning is why I became a teacher.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of my most memorable experiences was leading an after-school environmental science club that received a generous donation for an 8-day trip to Costa Rica. Eighth-grade students from Paterson, NJ, conducted rainforest ecology studies on the Osa Peninsula, kayaked in lagoons, and rode horses on the beach. Seeing them explore, discover, and push past their limits made it unforgettable.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would use the prize to continue the work I love while expanding access for the community. Funds could support new telescopes and hands-on STEM programs, afterschool and family events, and resources that make science more accessible to all. This would allow me to bring immersive experiences to more students and the public, inspiring curiosity and exploration for years to come.
