Tell us why you became a teacher

Ever since the 4th grade, I have wanted to pursue a career in teaching. I used to play school with my brother over the summer because I missed school so much. Throughout my career as teacher, I have realized that not only do I enjoy teaching students, but I also love learning and collaborating with fellow educators. Every school year is a learning opportunity and an adventure!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was when my class and I were featured on our school district's website. We were showing how technology can help us be better writers. The students were engaged in typing their responses and making connections to previous texts. The responses that students are submitting are detailed and thoughtful. What would you do with the $25,000?

I would do some home improvement projects around our much-needed home. I would make sure my mother-in-law receives in-home care and purchase a prosthetic leg for her because she lost her leg battling diabetes. I would financially provide my own children a college education. Finally, I would go on a final family vacation because my children are growing up so fast.
