Cara Buffaloe

Since my sophomore year of highschool I had a teacher who wanted to help me be successful in her math class. She encouraged me, tutored me, and took me under her wing. Since then, I knew I wanted to continue that and be of impact to other students that I one day would teach. I fell in love with teaching but I most importantly fell in love with the job and how it has made me a better person. Long story short, I want students to reflect on there education and remember my name for making an impact.

My meaningful teaching experience would be, being able to have heart to heart conversations with my students that have difficulty with social emotional skills. Being able to hear them out and build a relationship with them, that embodies respect, and love has shaped me into a different person than when my career started. I think all of the little moments in my teaching career have been memorable for me. Especially when I hear of the impact I have made on a students life from others.

I teach in a low socioeconomic area and would love to bring happiness to those students I teach. I would love to start a program that embodies the abilities to help students with social skills, social emotional support, tutoring, and helping them be successful in their education. All Students, despite their socioeconomic status, should be successful in life. All in all, I would just like to give back to my students.
