Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I believe every child deserves someone who believes in their potential. As an ESE inclusion teacher, I love helping students who may struggle realize they are capable of success. Watching a student gain confidence, master a new skill, or say “I can do this now!” is incredibly rewarding. Teaching allows me to advocate for students, support their growth, and help them see a future full of possibilities.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable experiences was watching a student who struggled with confidence finally believe in themselves. After weeks of small group support and encouragement, they solved a math problem independently and proudly said, “I did it!” That moment reminded me why teaching matters. Seeing students overcome challenges and realize their abilities is the most rewarding part of being an educator.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I won $25,000, I would use it to fund meaningful field trip experiences for my ESE students. Many of my students benefit most from hands-on learning opportunities that connect classroom skills to the real world. These funds would help provide trips to museums, science centers, career exploration sites, and community programs that build life skills and confidence. Every student deserves the chance to learn beyond the classroom.
