I became a teacher because of all of the teachers ahead of me. When I needed someone, it was always a teacher who helped me the most. Some students have never had that, and I want every child to feel loved and cared for.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI was teaching about The Odyssey and students started making jokes about The Odyssey and the real world, and we just laughed the entire class period. To some, they might see a class goofing off, but to me we were building community while still learning material.
What would you do with the $25,000?It would help me pay off some of my student loans. I currently have to work more jobs to get extra money and can’t focus on my students, or refilling my cup so I can be the best teacher for them.
