Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I believe in everyday magic like when a child realizes they can! Teaching feels like casting small spells through words, patience, and encouragement. It’s also a kind of travel: exploring new ideas, stories, and worlds together without ever leaving the classroom. I chose teaching to inspire curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching moment was teaching in Disney English in China. Watching students gain confidence in a new language while bridging cultures was unforgettable. Despite distance and differences, joy, laughter, and learning connected us and reminded me why teaching truly matters.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000, I would invest in travel that deepens my understanding of the world. Experiencing new cultures, languages, and perspectives would fuel my creativity and empathy, which I’d bring back into my classroom. Travel makes me a better teacher by helping me teach curiosity, connection, and global awareness.
