Bryan Johnson

I transitioned from University DB Administration to the classroom when my grants concluded and a new path called to me. My true passion lies in the art of debugging and the thrill of discovery. Nothing compares to the moment a student finally solves a complex piece of code and their eyes spark with genuine excitement. I lead our robotics and computer science clubs to help ignite that same fire in others. Guiding students toward the eureka moment is why I show up every single day.

Winning first place at HPE CodeWars stands as my most proud teaching memory. I guided my students from basic Java to advanced competitive coding. During a difficult stretch, the team asked how 'they could improve'. I helped them identify communication gaps that were causing them to stall. They transformed instantly into a well tuned machine and dominated the next competition. Seeing them sync up and succeed through teamwork was incredible. I still beam with pride whenever I think about that win.

There are a couple of things that will likely have some money alloted. - Some house repairs need to be handled. - Some final payments towards my Masters degree (4 classes left). - A Medical bill that I have been putting off. Being a grant paid empoyee in the educational services, I know how important some money can be when shared into a good program. I have a makerspace at the school where I teach. I have gotten lucky with fundraisers and small grants, so to would i share.
