I became a teacher because I believe every child deserves to be seen, heard, and valued. I want to be a steady presence—the one who celebrates small victories, encourages through challenges, and creates a space where learning feels safe and joyful. Teaching is more than lesson plans to me; it’s building confidence, shaping character, and planting seeds that will grow long after students leave my classroom. Helping children discover their potential is truly my heart’s calling.

My most memorable teaching moment was witnessing one of my shy students believe in herself. After months of reassurance and uplifting words, she raised her hand without hesitation and voiced her answer with confidence. When my class applauded, I saw pride replace doubt in her eyes. I had to blink back tears. In that small, powerful moment, I was reminded that teaching isn’t about perfect lessons, it’s about helping children believe in themselves, and I am honored to be apart of that journey.

With $25,000, I would create a Family Resource Room with a food pantry, clothes closet, school supplies, and books to help families feel supported and students feel confident and prepared. This space would restore dignity and ease stress. I would travel to Greece with my husband, and I would also begin my journey toward earning my Ed Specialist degree in administration to grow as a leader and better serve my school community.
