I became a teacher to make a difference in students’ lives, build their confidence, and create a classroom where every child feels seen and valued. I’m especially passionate about helping students who learn in different ways find strategies that work for them, so they can grow, succeed, and believe in themselves.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of my most memorable teaching experiences was at the end of year testing. I saw students, who had been told they were not capable, grow in confidence and exceed their goals. Watching their pride and belief in themselves was incredibly powerful. It reminded me why I teach, to support every learner and help them succeed in their own way.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I were awarded $25,000, I would invest it into my Title 1 classroom to support all learners with flexible seating, hands on materials, books, and technology. I would also use it to support students outside of school by helping meet basic needs and connecting families with resources. My goal is to remove barriers and give every student the opportunity to succeed in school and in life.
