Tell us why you became a teacher

Quite honestly growing up everyone told me I’d be a teacher, but I always said no. I went to Doane University to play college soccer and their special education program found me. Since then I’ve poured my heart and soul into teaching.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching moment is helping a student prepare for high school after not being in a general education classroom in over 5 years due to his behavior. This student would emotionally and physically abuse teachers. Since being with me he has had no physical interaction with a staff member.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With the $25,000 I would use it to by my girlfriend an engagement ring which she is also a teacher. Then I would buy my deaf dog all the treats and toys he wanted. Also, pay off the last of my student loans.
