Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I wanted a fulfilling career in which I could make a difference in the world! I not only want to see them learn, but I love those little moments when I recognize that they are willing and want to learn! I love building relationships with my students, and that in turn makes my passion for teaching grow! Just knowing my students will forever carry the knowledge and love they receive from my classroom makes it all worth while!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable moment teaching to date was receiving an email at the close of the school year from a student thanking me for instilling the love of reading in them! This student went on to say that I brought them out of their comfort zone and made them a much more confident reader AND student! Realizing my influence became real in this moment, and it motivated me to keep going in this teaching journey!

What would you do with the $25,000?

$25,000 would allow me to not only pay down some of my debt, but it would give me the opportunity to provide my classroom with items I otherwise would not be able to purchase! I would also LOVE to plan and pay for a wonderful vacation for my family for our summer vacation together!
