My grandma, my uncle, and his daughter (my cousin) are all teachers, but my mom is terrible at it! I actually never thought about it until COVID hit and we were all under quarantine. I had 2 young boys at the time as a single mom so I was also an instant teacher via home schooling, like it or not. As it turned out, I really enjoyed it.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy best memory so far teaching is not even one from in the classroom. And even now I haven't been teaching very long compared to probably anyone else in this contest. But what meant the most to me, and is a go to on a bad hair day, was a day during COVID quarantine helping one of my sons with a math problem, and it finally just clicked. He understood. Not just got the right answer - HE GOT IT. Yeah. I did that.
What would you do with the $25,000?My brother passed away in September and we were very close. He was very gifted. I think I would use some to honor him in some way, aa music or art scholarship maybe or just a memorial place for people to go for inspiration. He would have liked that.
