I love teaching mostly when I see the kids actually grasp the content and understand it, when that light bulb go off in their head, great!

I became a teacher because science was always my favorite class but I did struggle a lot. I wanted to make a difference to those kids who find science hard, just because it’s hard doesn’t mean you can’t understand it! I try my best to make it accessible to all students and that’s why I teach!
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience would have to be last year, I had a student who hated science with everything in him. He slept through class almost each day, but throughout the year I worked with him and he turned into the student who was awake during the lesson, he was participating in the activities. My highlight is at the end of the year he left me a note saying “most memorable science teacher I’ve ever had, made 8th grade science not so bad” and that’s why I do what I do.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would buy a BUNCH of lab kits for my school. We don’t have a lot of access to doing hands on labs because of our materials. A lot are broken or missing components. I would love to be able to replace all of those supplies.
