I love teaching because the growth is real—academically and emotionally—and every small win truly matters.

I became a teacher to make a difference in students lives beyond academics, helping them build confidence, resilience, and curiosity about the world. I love creating engaging, hands-on learning experiences, and supporting students who need patience, structure, and encouragement. Teaching lets me combine my passion for math and problem-solving with my belief that every student deserves someone who sees their potential.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of my most memorable moments was watching a student who once hated math, finally smile, and say “I get it”. After adjusting how I taught, slowing down and meeting them where they were emotionally and academically they began to enjoy learning. Seeing them regulate, feel safe and experience success reminded me that teaching isn’t just about content; it’s about connection, patience and showing students someone who truly cares.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would use the $25,000 to help pay off academic debt and secure stable housing for my son and me. Right now, teacher pay in facilities schools makes it difficult to afford a place of our own and the support would provide financial relief instability. It would allow me to focus more fully on my work and continue showing up for my students while creating a secure home for my family
