One of the hardest things I had to do was tell my family that I didn't want to be apart of the family business. Luckily, they supported me. I am so passionate about teaching. My biggest job is to make sure students want to be at school every day. I cherish seeing them make learning connections! I love coming to "work" every day. I teach outside of the box and am really good at creating meaningful experiences for my students. I tend to go overboard! I could not be more honored to be a teacher!
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI will never forget the day my admin called me and said I was getting a new student, "Bob", from another classroom. He was transferring to my room because of severe behavior. We started our journey together with have an evacuation code word: Blue Jay being used multiple times a day. Through connections, consistency and determination, by the end, we never used Blue Jay again. His mom told me he had never had a teacher who gave him a fair chance. He was always prejudged. I will never forget "Bob"!
What would you do with the $25,000?I would use the money to strengthen my family’s financial stability and rebuild our savings after a challenging couple of years. It would also allow us to take a special family vacation. My two daughters have been hoping for a trip to the beach, and it would mean so much to make that happen.
