I originally didn’t know what I wanted to do. I was taking all kinds of science classes in college. One semester I tutored another student, and it just clicked. I was meant to teach. Now I work with middle schoolers to spark their interest in science.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience is when I taught our forces unit in my second year. I had a student that struggled all year, but when he got to build an egg car his face lit up. He was so excited to test and modify his car. I will never forget his smile when his car finally succeeded in protecting his egg.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would use some of the prize money to help pay off my student loan debt, some to buy more books for my classroom library, and some to treat myself.
