Tell us why you became a teacher

I want to instill lessons that will carry them on for many years and for them to have understanding that success looks different for everyone. I especially wanted to be a teacher because "I was that child"... The one that could not focus due to trauma. The one that didn't have the financial ability to go on the field trips. The one, that many teachers did not have faith in because I appeared to be on a bad path. It only take one person believing in you.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My current most memorable teaching experience is students whose path crossed mine, reaching out a few years later to than me for their current school successes. The most memorable comment I have received was "You are the first teacher that every really talked to me, not at me".

What would you do with the $25,000?

With that amount of money I would most likely pay off a car loan and then use the remaining balance to pursue my Masters Degree and special education studies.
