Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher to encourage young people to find joy in everyday things. I want to be a shining light to all students. The youth of today will shape the future for everyone. I can help them to overcome and learn from their mistakes and I can cheer on their personal victories.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of the most memorable experiences I have had as a teacher was when I taught health class we were talking about suicide prevention. After the class discussion I had a student who approached me for help because they had a plan to end their life that night, and after our class discussion they new they needed some help and they trusted me to help them find what they needed. This person has gone on to get a college education and is living life to the fullest.

What would you do with the $25,000?

The $25,000 would be used to help pay down some of my debts to help my family be in a better financial position. It would also be used to take a family vacation to show my love and support for those who love and support me.
