I've always worked with youth in regards to helping them learn how to play the game of baseball. I wanted to further help them by educating them in a school setting, so I decided to go back to school and get my teaching credentials. Now, hopefully I have helped them for the rest of their lives!
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceThere have been many, but this one student told me on the first day of school that he couldn't read. I told him that if he believed in himself and worked hard with me I would make sure he learned. As time went on he began to learn to read and he told me that because I spent time with him and believed in him he wanted to do well and that's why he is a reader now! What a remarkable feeling!
What would you do with the $25,000?I would continue to support readers by helping our classrooms purchase books and also donate books to our library. I would also like to improve our classroom library setting with carpets, furniture etc...
